It’s that time of year again and the big boys are already well underway with their Christmas campaigns, high profile TV adverts and big budgets. But what can you do as a small business to make sure your brand is in front of your customers during the festive season while everyone is competing for their attention? This is especially important for B2C businesses but its an opportunity for B2B too. Here are 5 ways you can easily promote your business online at Christmas.
1. Timeline Cover Photos
It’s fairly easy to dress up your social media profiles with a festive cover photo. There are lots of festive templates available online, you could design your own or you could get a graphic designer to create a professional, bespoke image for you. Include a call to action to really optimise it and remember to put a link in the image description so people can follow it.
2. Seasonal Offers
Everyone loves a bargain, especially at this time of year. So take the opportunity to reward your loyal customers with a special offer or seasonal promotion. Post something entertaining or amusing, create a holiday competition or promotion or just a special offer to say thank you to your customers.
3. Advent Calendars
A countdown is a great way to get people’s attention and gives you the opportunity to remind them of your brand every day for a month. There are wordpress plugins available, or your could get your own app developed but you can also do it yourself by creating a series of scheduled posts with different messages for each of the days or some customised content on your website which changes each day.
A reward or special offer for each day or simply a special message for your audience doesn’t need to cost a fortune and will create engagement and activity on your profiles.
4. Let it Snow
It’s fairly easy to make it snow on your website, especially if you are using WordPress. There are lots of plugins available that offer all sorts of different special effects and most are free. It will be snowing at www.zeun.co.uk in a few week’s time. Here is a sneak preview:
5. eChristmas Cards
You probably already send an email newsletter, if you don’t then you should seriously think about doing so or contact us for help. You should at least have a list of email addresses for your regular customers and immediate prospects and an electronic christmas card is a really cost-effective way of reaching them in their inboxes. If you are going to do this instead of sending out physical cards, why not donate the savings you make to a charity and make this clear on the e-card to show your company cares and also raise awareness for your favourite causes.
